Percy and Roger have been together 51 years. After an inauspicious start where Percy ended up with food poisoning, they were soon in a relationship, despite homosexuality still being illegal at that time. In 2005 they were the first gay couple in Westminster to have a civil partnership. In 2014 they converted this to a marriage. During their conversation they discuss for the first time the one brief period in their relationship where they were separated.
