Sian and Harry - Grieving Together and Apart
Sian and Harry live in Port Patrick, near Stranraer. They have two children, Rowan and Erin. They lost their middle child Euan 18-months before this conversation was recorded. The local community helped them to establish a play park in his memory, but they're still coping with the grief of his loss. Euan was a bright, caring boy. He was always keen to be involved with jobs around the house and garden - sowing seeds in the greenhouse or helpfully hammering wood. He liked rough and tumble games with his big brother Rowan, but cared for his little sister Erin too. Euan was 4-and a half when he died on 8th Jan 2015 from complications from the chicken pox virus. The play park - Euan's Playspace - now serves as a memorial to him and it's located in one of his favourite spots near the sea.
