When tree science goes wrong
In the 1960s, disaster stuck when a scientist tried to date an ancient bristlecone pine tree and got his equipment stuck. Tony Kirkham, Head of the Arboretum at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in the UK, reveals what happened next.
