'There should definitely be a Thatcher statue'
The Royal Parks Commission have refused permission for a statue of Margaret Thatcher to be erected in Parliament Square, citing, in part, concerns over vandalism.
James Delingpole, a Spectator columnist and lifelong fan of the Iron Lady, told Carolyn Quinn "there should definitely be a statue...an enormous one".
Former Conservative mayoral candidate and self-confessed Thatcher enthusiast, Ivan Massow, agreed with the need for a statue but said "a symbol that most divides us is Margaret Thatcher...although I love her, I see the problems it would cause".
Mr Delingpole said if the reason for not putting up the statue is because of fears over vandalism "you might as well start arguing we shouldn't have cars in case people drink-drive in them".
