Leading lawyer Funke Abimbola has told 5 live how her African heritage was a barrier to getting a job at the start of her career but is now something that makes her stand out.
She told Nicky Campbell: 鈥淚t鈥檚 obvious that I have African heritage and that was a real problem. I got absolutely nowhere with my CV鈥檚 and covering letters.鈥
Funke has been practicing law for almost 20 years.
鈥淣ow it鈥檚 a case of my name and my skin colour making me really stand out, it鈥檚 become part of my brand.鈥
