The magic of Faroese
The Faroe Islands, halfway between Norway and Iceland, may be small but the islanders are determined not to be overlooked. Last year the Faroese mounted cameras on sheep to create their own version of Google's Street View. Now they have launched their own version of Google Translate. If for example you want to say 'decertify the nuclear deal' in Faroese, you type the phrase into faroeislandstranslate.com and a Faroese volunteer will film themselves saying the phrase in Faroese and send it to you. Levi Hanssen is in charge of the project. He's been reflecting on his favourite language.
