In Peru, a beauty pageant protest goes viral
The 23 contestants at the Miss Peru pageant did something no one was expecting. When asked for their measurements, the women recited a different set of numbers: statistics that describe the rate of violence against women in their country. Cassandra Sanchez de la Madrid, one of the coordinators of the Miss Peru competition, explains why.
