F1 'being held hostage' by Ferrari and Mercedes - Palmer
Former Renault Formula 1 driver, and 5 Live Sport summariser Jolyon Palmer is worried the sport has become too predictable, saying Mercedes and Ferrari are holding it hostage.
Last season, the leading two teams won 17 out of the 20 races, with Red Bull taking the other three victories.
And Palmer says that is making the sport less exciting, with Ferrari and Mercedes "calling all the shots on their terms."
Formula 1 bosses will lay out their vision for the sport's future to the teams at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Friday.
Plans include ways of cutting costs, creating a more equitable split of revenue among teams, a simplified engine and an increased number of standard parts.
