Tom Kerridge: Cookery shows raise restaurant standards
Tom Kerridge has said restaurant standards have been raised by people鈥檚 increased interest in food, in part thanks to TV cookery shows.
The chef told Nihal Arthanayake: 鈥淲e鈥檙e one of the best and most diverse food scenes in the world.鈥
Commenting on the problem experienced by high street chains Prezzo, Jamie鈥檚 Italian and Byron, all of which have announced restructuring and branch closures, he added: 鈥淪omething somewhere is not right, those profit margins are being eaten away at and it鈥檚 very difficult to make money.鈥
