American football quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who knelt during the national anthem before games to protest against racial injustice, is the new face of sports brand Nike.

Mr Kaepernick's 'take the knee' movement was controversial and strongly criticised by US President Donald Trump. Shortly after the row kicked off, he put up the following quotation on his twitter page, from a speech made in 2002: 'Do not underestimate the determination of a quiet man'.

They were the words of former Conservative Leader Iain Duncan Smith, and he explained their meaning on Radio 4's World at One programme.
