The galactic gown on display at V&A Dundee

This stunning space dress was one of over a thousand costumes designed and created by Bafta-winning Scottish costume designer Trisha Biggar and her team on the Star Warsâ„¢ prequel films in the late 1990s.

Biggar's costumier career began after a family friend suggest she apply for a sewing gig at Pitlochry Theatre.

It was a good move and led to work during the panto season at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh before eventually leading to an important job heading up the costume department at the Citizen's Theatre in Glasgow for ten years.

Her expertise in intricate period costumes meant it wasn't long before her talents were recognised by the film industry and she eventually caught the eye of George Lucas.

The V&A Dundee will display this costume for six month before it will move to its home at the The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, currently under construction in Los Angeles, California.
