Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Judie Tzuke and Joan Armatrading, Deb Joynes and Dave Osgood form the duo Imaner - slang for 'him and her'!
听
As well as running a variety of open mic nights across the area, last year the pair started up Glastonbeoley near Redditch - after Deb's birthday plans snowballed!
听
More than a thousand people turned up, raising ten thousand pounds for local charities.
听
Glastonbeoley will be back again this year, with Deb and Dave hoping to raise even more.
听

We are sailing

Singer/songwriter Sally Stamford, from Kington, and guitarist/vocalist Jim Rolt, from Bromyard, have been recording us an audio diary about their adventures on board their boat Chaos.
听
In this episode, we hear of the trials and tribulations of their journey from the Caribbean island of Bequia to St Lucia before heading off to Martinique.

It's owned by the Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society and built on the site of the old Market Theatre which used the be the only venue of its kind in Herefordshire for 18 years! That was between 1961 and 1979.
听
The old theatre almost burnt down in the '80s by an accidental fire behind the building - but the damage was repaired by young offenders.
听
Then, over 10 years later, when it was being demolished to make way for the theatre we see today, it caught fire AGAIN - which the dramatic society say could have been the poltergeist of the old building refusing to be upstaged and insisting on going out in style!
听
Nowadays, it's run entirely by volunteers and they host a range of performances from plays to state-of-the-art cinema screenings and music events.
听

The workshops, held at Number 8, were only supposed to last a year.
听
But the feedback has been so positive the pot of money has been renewed for another 12 months.
听

The Hay Festival

We will be there for two events on Sunday, 26 May at 8.30pm and 10pm. Entry is FREE but ticketed and details of how to book tickets will be announced soon.

The Hay Festival is pick & 'n' mix shop of literature, politics, arts and science events and swells the population of Hay-on-Wye early each summer.
听
For last year's festival, which was the 31st edition, 273,000 tickets were sold with attendees from more than 40听countries, ranging from Afghanistan to Argentina.
听
The full Hay Festival 2019 programme is released on Tuesday.

The 176-seat venue, which is run by local volunteers, hosts a variety of events from plays, cinema screenings and live streaming from the West End.
听
The venue is situated inside Norbury House, an Art Deco building which started life as a luxury hotel - although it's role of putting up guests overnight was reasonably short-lived, having been used as a military hospital in WWII.
听
The Norbury Theatre came into being in 1962 for the sole purpose for local amateur societies having a venue to perform at.
听
Nowadays, they share Norbury House with 96 flats. The theatre takes up the largest area of the building, including dressing rooms on the first floor, extensive properties storage in the cellars and scenery in the old kitchens! Not forgetting, of course, the auditorium, foyer and stage!
听
The event takes place between 2pm and 6pm and admission is free.听
