Cervical screening ‘meltdown’ headlines: What’s really going on?
Official figures recently revealed the number of women going for smear tests has reached an all-time low. A campaign was launched to encourage women to go for tests which look for the early signs of cervical cancer. More women went for testing but The Guardian newspaper has reported that they have been told the service is in “meltdown”. Kate Sanger from the charity Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust speaks to 鶹ҳ Radio 4's Woman's Hour presenter Jane Garvey to explain what is really going and whether women should be concerned.
