The young Mozart, 18 years old, really hit his stride with the completion of this piece written in 1774.

Highly regarded among his early symphonies it was favoured by the composer himself who slated it for performance time and time again. Effortless gentility, after the Viennese tradition, suffuses each movement.

Considered to be Mozart's first 'big' (long) symphony, it's refined but musically delightful. Nothing showy, wistful or too serious, the piece seems simply to say, "I'm happy."
