    I Am Not a Trend

In session

Cabin Music is a live recording project by the Herefordshire-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Elspeth Anne alongside drummer Tom Rees.
Ìý
Their sound is a combination of British folk-music traditions and alt country with grunge and riot grrl influence.
Ìý
But since their formation in 2018, they've played more shows in Germany than here in the UK - with more European dates lined up!
Ìý

Funkagenda

Our special guest, this week, is former Kidderminster College student Adam Walder who went on to conquer the dance music world as 'Funkagenda'.
Ìý
The producer, who made his first beats when he was just 13 and formed his first band in secondary school, went to live in Brooklyn having picked up a Grammy Award.
Ìý
But it wasn't all roses for Adam; he became homeless during his teenage years, sleeping on a bench on a roundabout in Kidderminster.
Ìý
Nowadays, he runs his own record label.
Ìý
This week, he returned home to talk to the students about how you can make a career from music.

Seven Worlds, One Planet

Sir David Attenborough's latest programme, Seven Worlds, One Planet, begins tomorrow night on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú One - just four months after announcing the series at Glastonbury.
Ìý

His last documentary, Blue Planet II, revealed to the world the harmful damage plastic has had on the environment.
Ìý
Since then, large numbers of festivals have banned straws and other single use plastics.
Ìý
This week, to coincide with the launch of the new series, we assess the environmental damage our local festivals are having - and the measures they're taking to 'leave no trace'.

Features

  • In the Music News: A live music venue, in Ledbury, is banned from having live music for three months.

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

This month's sessions come from the Worcester Music Festival where we hosted a stage at Annie's Burger Shack.
Ìý
So far, the festival has raised more than £55,000 for local charities.
Ìý
Music was hosted in pubs, clubs, cafes, bars - you name it, the whole of Worcester was taken over with the sound of new music!
Ìý

Musicians' Masterclass

We're looking at how to grow an audience!
Ìý
So we chat to a man who once drove past the Royal Albert Hall and decided to hire it out after concluding they’d never book him!
Ìý
Step forth Steve Knightley, the songwriting force behind the multi-award winning acoustic roots duo Show of Hands.

Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Music Introducing in Bromyard

Our next recording session takes place at the Conquest Theatre in Bromyard on Sunday, 24 November from 7pm.
Ìý
If you've only ever driven through the town before, the Conquest is on what we like to call 'Nozstock Street!'.
Ìý
The theatre has now been hosting events at its Tenbury Road location for a quarter of a century - but they'd been campaigning for a facility like this since the '50s, according to the records book.
Ìý
Originally, events had been held in an 'old tin hut' which had been built in 1919 by the Royal British Legion.ÌýBut eventually they decided an all-singing, all-dancing venue was what the town needed.
Ìý
We'd love to see you on the 24th - simply turn up, there's no need to book.
