Reading FC: "Something changed very, very quickly" for Bowen
麻豆官网首页入口 Wales' Rob Phillips says Mark Bowen's appointment as Royals boss is 'interesting'.
The former Wales international became Reading manager after Jose Gomes' sacking last week.
"You can understand why fans are annoyed...because it has come out of the blue," Rob Phillips told 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Berkshire's Andrew Peach. "That said, I'd say a club who's had four managers in the last 18 months, something has to change.
"Maybe Mark Bowen could be the one [but] any appointment is a gamble.
"[Last month he said] he had no real plans to go back into coaching, and he also said he'd made a conscious effort to stay away from training, because his job was now the shirt and tie, rather than the boots.
"Something changed very, very quickly."
