Now, after years of hard work he's running a highly rated cafe in the same roadside location.
But it's not just a sandwich stop - determined to spread the kindness that helped turn his life around, the cafe called Nice Baps now acts as community hub, helping homeless people across North Cornwall.
He's been telling his story to 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Cornwall's Victoria Gould for our .Cornwall, My Story' series.
