American Factory is a documentary that has been nominated for the Best documentary feature Oscar. It's garnered publicity because it's the first film to be produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions. It's a film about a culture clash as a former GM plant in Dayton Ohio is taken over by a Chinese company with many of the former GM employees re-employed, at vastly reduced wages and confronted with a very different work ethic.
Jamie Robertson talks to the film's two directors Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar.
