Physical Risk
Two film-makers who have exposed themselves to personal danger, discuss taking physical risks for their work. Oscar-winning director Orlando von Einsiedel (The White Helmets, Virunga) discusses filming in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in the Democratic Republic of Congo as civil war broke out. Hassan Akkad discusses filming his journey from Damascus to the UK via the Calais ‘Jungle’, including a dangerous boat crossing from Turkey to Greece where the boat began to sink, footage which featured in the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú series Exodus.
Part of Front Row’s Risk season investigating personal, financial, reputational and physical risk in all the arts.
