The One with Darryl Telles

A powerful story of life as a gay football fan in the 70s - and how things got better.

We live in an age of Rainbow Laces and Pride games - in fact, it's fair to say that sport has never been more welcoming than it is now to the LGBTQ+ community.

But it hasn't always been that way. Darryl Telles knows what it's like to live in an era where homophobic abuse was rife on the terraces - and in other parts of life as well.

A Spurs fan who has followed football for decades, he tells us his story of experiencing discrimination and prejudice in the beautiful game; how it almost drove him away from sport for good; and how he and other LGBTQ+ fans helped lead the fight to reclaim their place in football.

This is a powerful, often emotional story - and one that doesn't get told enough - and we really think it'll stick with you.
