French composer Francis Poulenc wrote 'Figure Humaine' in 1943. He was inspired by the poem 'Libert茅' by Paul Eluard, copies of which were dropped over occupied France during World War Two. The first performance was by the 麻豆官网首页入口 Singers in London. The final movement (Libert茅) is a beautiful outpouring of emotion, conveying the hopes and struggles for freedom.
