The first of Strauss's F眉nf Lieder op.39 published in 1898 with words by poet Richard Dehmel . The opening line "In the silent garden" and very delicate piano might lead you to think Leises Lied (quiet song) was a mournful tune but as you reach the line "bright lilies blossom" the piano brightens into something quite pretty.
