A musical picture of the famous lake and its seldom seen amphibious beast, Loch Ness uses the full range of registers available in an orchestra. The murky depths plumbed by the lower woodwind and the tuba (no prizes for guessing which animal it represents), rise up, to display the beauty of the surrounding Highlands in the shimmering brass and flutes. It all makes for a colourful and original piece of art.
