Cambodia proposes a law on 'inappropriate' clothing

Activists in Cambodia are worried that a proposed law could be used to undermine women鈥檚 freedom and reinforce a culture of impunity around sexual violence. People deemed to be dressed inappropriately by the police could be fined.

The draft legislation would ban women from wearing anything 鈥樷€檛oo short鈥欌€ or 鈥樷€檛oo see-through鈥欌€, as Sopheap Chak, executive director of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights explains.
