The pop-up proms bringing happiness to the elderly
Ricky Smith taught himself to DJ so he could bring pop-up proms to elderly care homes in the US. Now he tours the US with his organisation R.A.K.E. (Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere) putting on shows to help elderly people with loneliness.
Ricky鈥檚 desire to help others came from his own experience of hardship. He was living in LA and only had $20 left - so he decided to use it to buy pizzas for the homeless. He posted his story on social media and it inspired other people to do good - so he decided to carry it on.
