"...I hope it creates better understanding..." - Alastair Campbell on surviving depression, removing stigma and his new book
He was one of the leading figures behind New Labour's rise to power, and a key political player during Tony Blair's time in government.
Now, Alastair Campbell has written a frank, honest book detailing his own experiences with mental health - and more specifically, how he's learned to survive depression.
Alastair - who began his career in Cornwall - has been speaking to our weekend presenter Jack Murley about why now was the right time to write this book; the way he's learned to manage his depression; and how he hopes it will help remove the stigma that still exists around mental illness.
