With every new upload, singer-songwriter and composer Sans Soucis captivates us with her honeyed tones and luscious melodies as she blends classic song-writing with unique melodies.

Hailing from North-East Italy, Guilia Grispino grew up in a musical household, exposed to a healthy mixture of Congolese sounds and Celine Dion. Grispino also sung in a classical choir as a child before embracing a hedonistic teenage lifestyle and abandoning her musical pursuits. It wasn’t until the age of seventeen when Grispino rediscovered her love of music, which was quickly followed by a move to London and the beginning of Sans Soucis when she realised she could be her own producer and songwriter and gained a real sense of who she is as an artist.

Citing Laura Mvula, Lianna La Havas and Lucio Battisti amongst her many influences, Sans Soucis’ sound is a fusion of genres, playing with everything from indie and jazz to electronic beats. This gives it a uniqueness and captivating quality, particularly as she flips between English and Italian lyrics.

Her most recent release ‘Air’ first landed in our inbox in early October and we have been obsessed with it ever since. Grispino’s falsetto vocals swim effortlessly above light, punchy beats, all perfectly punctuated by glistening synths. This is clearly an artist who is unafraid to embrace all of her influences with open arms and try something totally new.
