Trump impeachment: formal process of his trial begins
The former president, Donald Trump, stands accused of inciting insurrection against the US government. The first step in his trial has begun with an article of impeachment being passed from the House of Representatives to the Senate, which will become the court in which, for the first time, a former president is impeached.
Mr Trump has already been impeached once and found not guilty, so is this likely to happen again? The aim this time is also to bar him from office again. Kimberly Wehle, Law professor and legal analyst, from the University of Baltimore, explains what the process entails.
