Jay Blades: Dyslexia has given me 'other qualities'
Jay Blades has said he never reads emails sent to him by TV producers because they give him a headache.
The Repair Shop presenter has dyslexia and found out at university that he had the reading age of an 11 year old.
He told 5 Live’s Nihal Arthanayake: “I celebrate being dyslexic because it's given me a load of other qualities. My memory is insane, my visual picture is unbelievable."
It was only after he had been presenting The Repair Shop for three series that Jay told producers he couldn’t read the briefs they sent him.
He told them: "If I read an email, it’s just going to hurt my head and I won’t be able to come here."
