In Deep Water: A Year In Calais

Why are so many migrants on the French coast prepared to risk their lives for a dream?

More people are being recorded crossing the English Channel by boat than ever before, but only the ones that make it to the UK are counted, and many that try, fail.

People who can afford it use a smuggler, those that can鈥檛 will try anything in desperation. The reality of what鈥檚 happening on the beaches is shocking.

Filmmaker Julien Goudichaud has spent a year on the French coast determined to find out why so many people are prepared to risk their lives for a dream.
