Kevin Clifton: Strictly Come Tapping

Stacey’s other half Kevin Clifton talks about leaving Strictly, being without work during the pandemic, and learning to tap dance from scratch for the role of a lifetime.

Watching a play 15 years ago, Kevin Clifton realised he didn’t want to compete in ballroom - he wanted to work in theatre.

After a successful run as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing (and taking the Glitterball with our Stacey!), he decided to follow up on his dream, leaving the show for the West End. But disaster struck – the pandemic hit, and all Kev’s work dried up. So in a fresh start of his own, Kev decided to learn to tap dance from SCRATCH to bag the role of a lifetime – performing on the very same stage he was inspired by all those years ago.

In a heart to heart with her other half, Stacey explores the value of persistence when the tide seems to be against you.
