Tigray crisis: PM calls on citizens to take up arms

A conflict between the government of Ethiopia and forces in its northern Tigray region has thrown the country into turmoil. Ethiopia's Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, has appealed to citizens to take up arms to block advancing rebel fighters. Fighting has been going on since November 2020, leaving thousands of people dead, with 350,000 others living in famine conditions.
