No political arrests in HK - pro-Beijing politician
Hong Kongers are 鈥渁rrested and put to jail not because of their political stance, but because they鈥檝e broken the law,鈥� a newly elected pro-Beijing legislative councillor says.

Lee Tsz King of the New People鈥檚 Party won a seat in December 2021鈥檚 legislative elections, which saw pro-Beijing candidates sweep the board.
Many Hong Kong pro-democracy activists and politicians have been arrested or forced into exile.
Some newspapers have closed and critical voices silenced amid a growing crackdown.
