Russian advances have slowed in many places, revealing an army struggling to make progress.
Reports suggest Russian troops near the capital Kyiv have barely advanced in the past 48 hours.
Instead, bombardments have started, as seen in the seizure of of a key port city in southern Ukraine, Kherson.
