Bookseller of Kabul on his life in exile and quest to sell books in Afghanistan
Shah Muhammad Rais was made famous by the international bestseller, The Bookseller of Kabul. He survived a succession of repressive regimes in Afghanistan. But he had to flee, when the Taliban returned, and since last September, he has been living quietly in the UK, where he has claimed asylum. He's been telling Paul Henley why it has been difficult to talk about his in exile in the United Kingdom faraway from Kabul.
