Kanye West and Adidas: A very public falling out

Clothing giant Adidas has cut ties with rapper Ye, known as Kanye West, saying it does "not tolerate antisemitism or any other sort of hate speech".

He’s one of the biggest rappers in the world and widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of all time. Kanye West – or Ye as now he now likes to be known – has sold more than 160 million records. But it's not his music that's been attracting attention in recent weeks. Rather, it's his social media posts that have got everyone talking, in particular a series of anti-Semitic comments. In the last few weeks, several brands have cut ties with the rapper, and he’s been booted off Twitter and Instagram for violating their rules on hate speech. Most recently and notably – he’s been dropped by clothing giant Adidas. This means his 'Yeezy ' products have been pulled from sale with immediate effect. So what’s been the reaction? And where does this leave the rapper and his now former brand collaborator? For 5 Minutes on, Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Newsbeat Reporter Sam Harris has the story. Image Credit: Reuters
