Replacement plans for Finchingfield’s 200-year-old bridge
Residents of Finchingfield are being asked to comment on plans to replace the 200-year-old village bridge. The consultation on Essex Highways’ plans are now available to view and residents have until Thursday 19th January to comment.
Essex Highways suggest the existing bridge is weak and deteriorating. They are proposing a new bridge and a temporary pond crossing, to support traffic flow in the area during bridge construction.
The replacement bridge will be built in the same place as the existing one and, where possible, Essex Highways says it will retain the same look and feel so as not to impact on the aesthetic of the picturesque village.
