AJ Simpson became the first non-binary winner of The Great Pottery Throwdown in 2022, when they wowed the judges - and the nation - with their impressive ceramics. Known for their signature ‘blobs’, AJ lives and works in their native Aberdeen. We meet AJ in the studio they share with partner Celda and rescue dog Leo, learn about AJ’s experience of growing up queer in the city, and more recently, embracing their non-binary identity.

We then join them as they return to their old high school to inspire the next generation of Aberdonian potters.
