The Turkish president has called for unity in his divided country, after narrowly winning what his opponent described as "most unfair election in years".
Supporters of Turkey's long-time president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are celebrating after he narrowly won the country's election, securing another five years in power.
In his victory speech he insisted that "only Turkey was the winner" - but he lost no time in attacking the opposition and the LGBTQ community.
During two decades as head of state or government Mr Erdogan has moved Turkey in an increasingly Islamist direction, cracked down on dissent and frequently scorned the country's NATO allies.
Those who wanted change in this deeply divided country - almost 48% of the voters - will be disappointed, and Mr Erdogan's opponent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, denounced "the most unfair election in recent years".
