The four finalists in the 麻豆官网首页入口 Essex Make A Difference Awards 2023 鈥淐ommunity Group鈥� category are (in alphabetical order):

Safe Steps, which works with people affected by domestic violence in the Southend community. They support victims in crisis through their telephone helpline and drop-in service, and they also provide refuge facilities and work with survivors through their recovery.

SEND The Right Message, which provides support to parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. STRM offers online support, face-to-face coffee mornings, appointments, training and children鈥檚 activities such as their bouldering club.

Sonny鈥檚 Army, a group described as being 鈥渢he heart of Jaywick鈥�. Sonny was born with a rare heart condition and has undergone numerous operations in his young life so far. His family started fundraising to help families with sick children, which has now grown into a huge community initiative.

Wellies-On, which is a care farm that helps to improve the lives of people with special educational needs and disabilities through introducing them to farmyard animals. In their nomination, Wellies-On is credited with helping service users feel safer 鈥渓iving within the world鈥�, allowing them to open up, relax and regain their confidence.

The four finalists will find out if they have won at the 麻豆官网首页入口 Essex Make A Difference Awards ceremony on 21 September 2023. Good luck!
