Fifpro to help Nigeria in off the pitch battle

Nigeria were one of the surprise packages of the Women’s World Cup group stage, before losing out to England on penalties in the first knockout stage.

However, players have been fighting a battle closer to home after "a disagreement with the Nigeria Football Federation" over unpaid bonuses, allowances and expenses - some which it claims date back to 2021.

Sport Today’s George Addo spoke to Nigerian football journalist Jane Nweze after Fifpro, the global players’ union, released a statement confirming they will assist the players in the ongoing dispute.
