Spanish journalist Bea Redondo discusses the backlash to Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales kissing Spain captain Jenni Hermoso after winning the Women’s World Cup.

Speaking with Sport Today presenter James Gregg, Redondo said: "Sadly, it’s a very good representation of Spanish society...

"The FA in Spain and many other places is run by misogynistic men, but also I think the difference here is that you don’t have that initial backlash from the media over here in Spain."

Rubiales kissed Hermoso on the lips during the presentation ceremony following Spain's 1-0 win over England in Sunday's final.

Government minister Irene Montero said: "It's a form of sexual violence women suffer on a daily basis."

In a video statement released on Monday, Rubiales issued an apology, saying: “I was wrong, I have to admit it. It was without bad faith at a time of maximum effusiveness. Here we saw it natural, but outside a commotion has formed. I have to apologize, learn from this and understand that when you are president you have to be more careful."
