Sven-Goran Eriksson says he has "best case a year" to live after being diagnosed with cancer.

The 75-year-old Swede was the first foreign coach to manage England and led the side to the quarter-finals of the 2002 and 2006 World Cup and 2004 Euros.

He also led the Ivory Coast at the 2010 World Cup and helped the Philippines reach the 2019 AFC Asian Cup

In a 42 year career in football management, he also took charge of some of the top European club sides such as Manchester City, Lazio and Roma.

Eriksson told Uma Doraiswamy from Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú's World Service's Sporting Witness that he learnt of the illness about a year ago and stood down from his most recent role as sporting director at Swedish club Karlstad 11 months ago as a result.
