Nottingham City Council approved big cuts to service and Birmingham is expected to do the same, after it effectively went bankrupt last year.

Libraries, parks and cultural projects are all likely to be affected. Social care provision will be cut, bin collections will become fortnightly, street lights dimmed, and road repairs reduced. 600 jobs could be cut.
