The University of Worcester's Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mick Donovan, says the announcement from the Netball Super League has left the team 'disappointed', with a franchise for the Midlands for the 2025 season onwards being won by the Birmingham Panthers.

The Super League is re-launching in the new year, with eight instead of ten teams, as part of plans to increase the professionalisation of the sport, and increasing the average salary by at least 60%, with the minimum salary payment more than doubling.
