David Attenborough's big surprise for Droitwich
A Droitwich pensioner who's devoted his life to nature says he feels "overwhelmed" with pride after receiving a special letter from Sir David Attenborough.
Seventy-one-year-old Alan Shepherd, a former ecologist, spent decades studying the great outdoors, managing wildlife sites, and planting trees, including work for the Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy.
He continues his work now as a resident at Sanctuary Care's Westmead Care Home in Droitwich, where he holds special wildlife classes for other residents, despite having suffered a stroke and being able to speak only through a voice box.
