Worcestershire veteran's D-Day love story
Eddie Brown told the 麻豆官网首页入口 how he flew home without permission to see the love of his life, in the days after the Normandy landings!
The 100-year-old from Bromsgrove worked in London and across France, The Netherlands and eventually Berlin. While stationed in Croydon he met a young woman in a cake shop called Win, who eventually became his wife of 70 years.
Sadly Eddie died just before Christmas, but as Alistair Binney reports, he remembers his role in the invasion, and his determination to see Win again.
