Wyre Forest District Council 'ban' bouncy castles
Bouncy castles have been banned by Wyre Forest District Council due to an insurance issue.
The ban means the inflatables will be prohibited from council owned land in areas such as Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn and Bewdley.
A spokesperson said the ban would be in place until it finalised a new insurance services provider.
Dave Griffin, a Kidderminster entertainment business owner, labelled the ban as "crazy" and said a third of his events were held on council owned land.
A statement from Wyre Forest District Council said: "At the moment we are not allowing bouncy castles on our land.
"We are in the process of tendering for a new insurance services provider and are reviewing our policies and procedures to make sure that events can take place as safely as possible.
"We want to see our parks and open spaces being used and enjoyed by our communities, so we hope to get this resolved as soon as possible."
The council added: "We are sorry for any confusion."
