'Dream becomes reality' at Sankey Marine, Evesham
Les Holmes died before he could complete his 22-foot boat, first started in 1978, in his back garden in Redditch. Amid emotional scenes, it's finally been given to its new owner, who has promised to make Les' long-lost dream a reality.
Les spent decades obsessing over his 22-foot 'cruiser' - he even used a crane, to move it near Pershore, when he moved house. But he died in 2013 without ever seeing it through.
Now, Jonathan Allen has officially taken on the boat, as its new owner, with the aim to get it to the water, once construction is complete, finally fulfilling Les' legacy.
Tom Edwards reports.
