‘We’ll finally stop paying lip service to women’s cricket’
Worcestershire's Chief Executive Ashley Giles reflects on the county's new Tier 2 side, following a restructuring of women's domestic cricket by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Since the demise of the Women's County Championship 5 years ago, Worcestershire's women cricketers have only been able to compete in the T20 cup, but that is about to change.
Worcestershire's women will be among ten teams competing a second tier of the new format, in both 20- and 50-over matches, as well as a new knockout competition played between teams from all three of the new tiers.
